The President's Award is awarded annually to an eminent Canadian who has made a significant contribution towards Sri Lanka and/or the large Sri Lankan expatriate community in Canada. This may be achieved either by improving bilateral socio-economic relations between Canada and Sri Lanka or by providing advocacy to the ongoing peace process in Sri Lanka. The President's Award was first introduced in 2005 by CSLBC President Kula Sellathurai.

“There are countless ways of achieving greatness, but any road to achieving one's maximum potential must be built on a bedrock of respect for the individual, a commitment to excellence, and a rejection of mediocrity.” – Buck Rogers, former Director of Marketing, IBM Corporation.
